Zetec thermostat housing lower bolt seized :(

Wow, that was close! thought I was going to have to smash off a perfectly good housing because of a leaky seal Anyway about an hour working the bottom bolt of the 3 in and out tiny amounts at a time I finally got it out The lower torx screw was also seized in, tried all the usual tricks like grinding a slot in it etc, ended up grinding the top of the torx head off so I could get the thermostat housing off, but slipped with the grinder I could then get the stub in the vice and got that out too.

Head to Housing Seal 1135946 £1.24 1 needed
o-Ring for thermostat 1092262 £1.23 1 needed
Torx Screw 1097036 £0.73 3 needed
Front Housing 1109329 £17.34 1 needed maybe (£22 on ebay!) Anybody got a spare one?
Bolt ?

Giving up for today before my luck runs out! So if you have this, a bit of patience and you may get lucky.

Cheers

Rich

Hey Rich

If you get really stuck mate I can send you up the complete assembly from mine ( Assuming the Silver top engine uses the same housing !!?? )

I can get another one when I get up to the breakers later this week

If they are different & you are still in need later in the week, i'll be happy to pick one up for you at the breakers & pop it in the post to you.
