Currently considering a change...

I'm not sure what to do to be perfectly honest. I built an Aries Locoblade (completed in '09) and have hardly done any miles at all. I am currently thinking about either a new project or to sell it and get another completed car.

If I were to go down the "get another completed car" route then I could potentially be interested in a bit of a trade for more of a touring type car (i.e. with windscreen, weather gear and car engine) so I thought I would do some thinking out loud on here to see whether there would be any interest in a trade with cash either way. If I was selling it, I would be looking for something over £6k as a guide to value.

Anyway, brief spec is as follows:

Aries Locoblade comprehensive kit. SVA’d in April 2009, registered May 2009 on a Q plate and only covered a couple of hundred miles since. Taxed until Nov ‘11 and no MOT until 2012.

Aprilia RSV Mille engine with Power commander (rolling roaded)
Aries billet column and paddle shift
Custom exhaust manifold and modified R1 carbon can
New Protech shocks
New D&F TRT propshaft
New Ally front hubs with new bearings
3.62 Sierra LSD
New rear bearings
New Wilwood 4 pots on front, new Sierra calipers on rear
New OBP pedal box with balance bar
New Minotaur (Minilite type) wheels with Yoko’s
Vapor dash plus surround
TZRacing programmable shift lights
JK Composite fibreglass seats
New 4 point harnesses
RAC type roll bar
New soft boot cover
New ally fuel tank
Quick rack
RMD D shaped wheel and QR boss
Lexan aero screen
New Odyssey battery
Toad immobiliser and remote alarm

Always garaged and has never been used in the wet. I've still got all of the receipts and build photos here too.

In short, built from almost all new parts. The only used / recon parts were engine, front uprights, drive shafts (shortened) rear hubs/bearing carriers and diff.

There are a couple of pics in my archive.

Please note that these are only my preliminary thoughts but U2U if there would be any potential interest.
Cheers
Richard

I would advise keeping it and looking for any excuse to drive it. Car clubs, evening meets, shows etc.. there's plenty of it about!

I'm not saying that I will move away from kits. It's just that I think I may get more family buy-in if I had something with a screen and a car engine.

ETA - Would also potentially consider a "nearly" finished cec if anyone wants to avoid IVA costs and guarantee being ready for the spring by having my car.

... and there is a "Welderman" MK style front hoop and roof bars to fit the car to go with it if required (needs welding in and painting or powdercoating)
