Double Adjustable Shocks

Hi Guys,

I have a set of 4 protech double adjustable shocks - the top of the range ones with remote canisters - so won't fade on longer races/hot days like std stand alone shocks...

open length ~15"
Closed length ~ 11"

These were £2k new in 2008, used for 2 seasons (Tim Gray's RGB championship winning striker) and not used since..

gathering dust - so first £550 plus post can take em.......

Will these fit a standard striker or are they sized for the TR chassis specfically?

they were fitted to a TR chassis, and although i had a std chassis previously.. i can't remember if there is a difference in length of shock between the two.

these have a decent range of open/closed, so with correct spring length may suit your application - measure up and drop me a u2u if interested..

I would, but I dont have the car yet! Will be collecting it in a week or 2. I have ordered standard GAZ shocks with the kit so can measure them.
If you havent sold them over the next few weeks I may get back to you. Cheers!

no probs good luck with the kit/build..

these would certainly be a significant upgrade on the std GAZ shocks !

Sorry, one more question, are they going to need a re-build?

Hi,

yes - they are rose jointed, no they will not need rebuilt... the two rear shocks were sent to protech to be serviced at teh end of '09 as one of them was weeping slightly - they were both done to ensure they were matched properly when rebuilt... Fronts are absolutely spot on.

u2u me an e-mail address and i will send pics....

I am very interested in these for my Locost. I need to measure my shocks to double check they will fit.
One thing I know is that the 1.9 'sI have on the back just fit in width under the ctop hassis mount. How far down the shock does the spring start?

Hi,

just under 1.75" from the mounting eye, and just under 2.5" from the very top of the shock top..
