Kubica Injured !

Blimey that's bad timing ,why go rallying with 1 month to the start of the season!

Wish him speedy recovery.

Bruno Senna is the likely back up , what a waste of a seat should be Hulkenberg or Chandok!

I am very surprised that his F1 team allow such pursuits, except for the high speed driving skills refresher, just before the season start

I'd guess that they'd welcome anything that sharpened the driver's skills & reactions, despite the risk...

A little mercenary, but I'd bet the teams have insurance for exactly this kind of situation.
Be a shame to end your career due to an accident where you were the passenger

7pm UK time Really looking as if his chances of ever racing again are slim --- pity ace guy and ace racer we can only wish him the best recovery possible.

It's a real shame for Robert has in my mind he would no doubt be a future World Champion.

From the updates this morning it looks like he will be out for at least 12 months and possibly never have the hand recover fully (it must be bad if it was reported as "partially severed", him being put into "an induced coma" and the operation taking "seven hours" by the doctors).

Who do you think will replace him now at Renault? I think if he is going to be out for a full season they won't use either of their reserves (Senna or Grosjean). I could see them going to Force India for either Sutil or Hulkenberg. Though my missus has made a valid point that they could go after Kimi).

Poor Lad - I hope he has a speedy recovery.

lol - you sound just like I did when I read that.

I mean: Renault chairman Gerard Lopez said: "If Robert won't return [in 2011] we rely on a driver with experience. A runner capable of winning the championship."

Liuzzi is your man then, obviously.

(the above comment makes me think my missus may have it right with the Kimi suggestion).
