FS: Landrover Freelander

My winter hack for sale If you are interested make me an offer

Landrover Freelander TD4
2001 Y plate
2 previous owners
10 months MOT
4 months tax

This Freelander is the later BMW engined TD4, you will not see a working one of these for sale for less than £3k, that is until today! OK this Freelander is cosmetically scruffy, it has a few scrapes and dents, some missing trim panels and marked interior, but mechanically it is very very good. It was obviously run as a farm vehicle for most of its life, and had a pretty tough time looking at the marks, but must have been looked after mechanically very well. I bought it in Novemeber as i wanted a 4x4 for the commute from Shropshire to Birmingham without the worry of being stranded in the snow like last year. which it managed sterlingly!! Returning decent MPG and taking me where i'd never have managed in my VW.

Good points:
I had the MOT done on it, only requiring a ball joint and a bulb, but other than that i haven't had a single issue with it.
It comes with 4 months road tax.
The front brakes were nearly new when i bought it,
The battery was fine all through the very cold spell and it never failed to start, even in the -15 temperatures we suffered.
All 4 tyres are good (although inside edge of one of the fronts is worn) and the spare looks brand new.
Mechanically excellent, IRD, VCU and rear diff all look fine unlike most freelanders you see on here.
The scruffy exterior adds character to a landrover, but with a little TLC it could be a lovely car
No nasty vibrations or noises
Does not use water or oil
Tow bar
Receipt for nearly £1000 worth of work just over 12months ago.
The paint work still shines up nice when washed
Bad points (and i will mention everything i know as i want the buyer to know exactly what the car is like and bid accordingly):

Dent on rear offside rear quarter next to filler cap
Filler cap trim has fallen off (it is in the glove box)
Deep scratches on bonnet
Offside door edge is slightly bent (see photo)
Near side rear quater has scrap to body work and wheel arch trim
Rear door has external trim panel missing
General scuffs and bruises all over the car
Interior ios scruffy, lots of marks on plastics
Paint spill in boot
Passenger seat has started to come unsttiched (not ripped)
Fag burn in rear bench seat
Armrest cubby lid hinge broken
190,000 miles
No service history (other than receipt mentioned above)
This is an honest review of the car which makes it sound very bad, but it isn't, if you want a cheap 4x4, the cheapest TD4 in the country or a cheap basis to build a nice freelander this is the car.

£1999

A superficial look at your advert and it sounds in a pretty bad way. Study the ad properly and you realise its a completely honest description!

Seems like great value to me!

Alright Austen,

Didn't realise it was yours that ended at 1300 quid, I was sorely tempted to bid on it myself, but I just couldn't guarantee that I'd get the money together in a reasonable time so I didn't do it!

If you've still got it in a few weeks then I will be in touch!!!

Well what an arsehole!! He was supposed to come between 6 and 6.30, got a text at 4pm (after a prompt from me) saying it would be 7-8pm. 8pm arrives so i text him, text straight back they are running late it will be 9pm. 9.30pm still no sign so i text him, they are in Birmingham apparently (1 hour away max), 10.45pm no sign of them so i text him telling him to stuff it, not heard from him since!!! If he changed his mind, just tell me instead of stringing along and fecking my night up (was supposed to be working on the car). And i only agreed to the mega cheap price as wanted it gone that day!!!

So anyway its back up for sale if any one wants it.
