Just fitted a quick rack... Much better!

Wow why didn't I fit a quick rack before! It's so much better than the original sierra rack!

Had to make my own tools to get the rack apart but totally worth it

If anyone is considering it then definitely get yourself one!

I got the rack and pinion second hand but you can buy them from rallydesign.

It was a bit of an arse to take apart but once I made the tools it was easy enough with the rack clamped to the vice!

If you are building a Kitcar then you can certainly take a rack apart without any problems

No idea without looking but it's the same as the original rack, it's just less turns lock to lock.

Yeh i got to agree a quick rack made my car feel more gokart like and also made it easier to get the back end out and control it.

I got mine from MK who 'found it down the back of a desk' after i tried to find out why it was taking so long to get delivered. lol

Did you have to cut the rack down and re-drill and tap it?

Hi
No my rack had already been shortened so all I had to do was swap the rack and pinion over, I'm sure a local engineering company would be happy to help if you have a original sierra rack

If you need to shorten the Internal rack then it's going to be tricky without the right tools.

Thanks

I was thinking of getting The Rally Design quick rack and pinion kit, which presumably would need shortening to fit the rack casing in my Indy.

Not sure, you'd think so. I would speak to a local engineering company. If you took your current rack and the new one with you they would be able to sort it easily.

I'll have to agree - the 3.8 turns rack was pants!
