First MOT

I am a bit confused as to when the first MOT is required for my SVA'd Locost. when I was struggling with getting a tax disk last year I understood that it was due at the beginning of the year following the third year after the car was registered after SVA however I would like to know if anyone has experience of this or other date when first MOT is due,

Thanks

Caber

3 years from the date of first registration as I understand it.

the form V112 which you use to tax the car if it's exempt states on the part 3 section

"becuse it's impossible to know the exact date a vehicle is made, the date is considered to be the last day of the year of which the vehicle was made"

hope that is of some help.

Thats what happened to mine. Manufactured in the year 2005 (DVLA records show exact date 03/12/05), 1st MOT due 01/01/09. 1st MOT date was given to me by the local DVLA office at the time of registration.

See here. I MOT'ed mines just to make sure that I was in fact legal. Yes you could argue the point in court and may or may not win your case.
