Any Peugeot Mechanics?

Hi,

The seal on the clutch master cylinder on the wife's 206cc has gone and is leaking brake/clutch fluid into the drivers footwell which is soaking into the carpet very effectively. I have got a replacement M/C but cannot find out for the life of me how the M/C pushrod disconnects from the top of the clutch pedal in order to remove the old one.

I am trying to do it without the hassle of removing the steering column and facia. The problem is that although you can just about access the top of the clutch pedal you can't see. The Haynes manual simply says "To remove the pivot clip, unhook its lower retaining tang then pivot it slightly upwards before sliding it out of position." However, it's not proving as simple as they make it sound - or am I missing something?

Any advice gratefully received!

TIA,

Mart.
