Although I need another car like a hole in head and will take some serious grief from the other half, at that price it was too good to turn down.

Just had a chat to the owner and pending collection it's now provisionally sold - to me!

Not that anyone would, but that would be worth buying for the SVA/reg alone, break it and get your money back and a free registration

If I was closer I would have had a go. Great toy for the summer, can't see how you could lose on it.

to good to be true

Shandylegs.
I would be very wary of this sale .
It smells like a scam to me, Don't be conned into sending money for this sale via a third person.
If you are dealing face to face with the seller all well and good but I was nearly conned by the offer of a norton motorbike for a not to be missed price, only when I insisted on meeting with the "seller" was the sale called off.
If it is too good to be true it often is the case.
Denis.

Where did that go?

sooo. if "someone" bought this and stripped it down and built it up with there own parts then they would get a full IVA'ed car for £1000.00

nice.

wonder if it has a chassis number??? mmmmmm

Thanks

Thanks for the concern, but you can be assured no money will be changing hands until the car has been checked and collected in person.

This may come back to haunt me - but having briefly spoken to the seller (My fault as was busy at work) it gave me no reason for concern.

Fingers crossed that it does turn out to be a bit of a bargain

Hi

It is a genuine car and seller with proper SVA paperwork and registration as a Locost. He just needs to sell. Not many people travel to Scotland to view cars!

I viewed the car in Oct last year, when it was a higher price, but couldn't persuade my other half of the need for another vehicle. It is a basic 1.3 crossflow car, book chassis, with some nice fabrication - looked good little car, as is, or to modify with a race cage and 1700cc crossflow or bike engine for hillclimbs in road car classes. The SVA compliant 3 point seabelt mounts on the roll bar and the rather square section to the bonnet, bottom of windscreen and scuttle mar the looks somewhat, but it still a nice car.

If you change your mind do say!
Cheers
Mike

Mike - Having briefly spoken to Len I knew the advert was genuine and the reasons for the sale, I just didn’t want anyone trying to gazump me at the last minute. I was totally honest with him that in my opinion the car was far too cheap (Bourne out by the fact his email inbox was full to bursting), but he stuck to the advertised price and took me on my word that I would take the car – a good honest person.

Thanks for the info on it’s condition. It’s reassuring to know, as from past experiences pictures can lie!

I also think you are reading my mind about future plans for the car – nothing too exotic, either leave well alone, decent x/flow set-up or cheap blade engine package! We’ll see after I’ve picked it up.

Despite been born and bred in the heart of Yorkshire, there are even times when I don't take the p....ss. Although we have also agreed a fair price on the spares and Brian James trailer

Because I've been looking for one and that was more than perfect for the money but by the time I saw it, it had been sold...

It's a shame that it's been sold simply to put on ebay but 5hit happens, you snooze you lose...

I'm sure the seller will make a healthy mark up and good luck to him, it's still a shame though.

Yodi - That's a bit like the pot calling the kettle on that one with the way you appear to go through cars!

Anyway, have a bid it may well go for less than you think (But I hope not).....
