I was part of the crew on a 72' ketch that sailed out of Port St Mary on the IoM when an RN Minesweeper was coming in for shelter. I don't generally suffer with sea sickness but the trip across to Northern Ireland broke me and it was not as bad as the conditions in that video. I was so ill and black and blue from head to toe. All the Navy guys deserve credit, not just the pilots. It's not all about cruising around the Med.

AH THATS JUST A WEE LIFT .......IN THE NORTH SEA

Sailing out of Stonehaven directly in to a gale so bad
the captain spilled his breakfast several times.....
And we were inspecting the bottom of the hull of the 30 footer sailing along side...

That was a tough day tacking 200 times and reefing the sails lots of times
Pretty tricky standing on a heaving deck at 45 degrees ......and man the north sea is bl00dy cold.

The bloke with the flags (Flight Deck Officer) is doing everything correctly and you'll notice the pilot doesn't drop until the deck is stable as indicated by the FDO. The pilot could have used the deck lock system form height to safely winch himself down, but chose not to, crazy Italians ( I think). I'd like to see the launch from that deck, it'd be like a trampoline jump.

I liked the bit at the end where the flag man is clearly indicating "Put it down NOW, NOW, NOW!"

How cool is that guy? Not only put it down in one piece but right on the money as well.
