Yamaha R1 4XV(2) Cylinder Head...

The bike I nabbed my engine from went over on its nearside and dinked the the top of the cylinder head/rocker cover... This over the last 4000 miles, has permeated down as a hairline crack around two inches causing a slow weeping of oil!

I've finally decided to sort it and am going to pull the motor out to get the top end TIGged up. I thought whilst I'm at it I might aswell just slap a new head on if anyone's got one cheap lying around?!

Just thought I'd ask!

Ta,

Chris.

Brill! What year are the heads?

Are you thinking of letting both go? Or just one?

Cheers!

Chris.

I have a 1999 4XV head and rocker cover. They haven't been used in a while but were tested and sealed very well. The valve shimming was done just before the engine was taken out too. Any reasonable price to clear space on my shelves.
