fuel gauge set up

just bought a gsxr 1000 locost the other day. really impressed with it, but its lacking a fuel gauge and the fuel light on the gsxr clocks is alwayz on, i take it this is because it has been bypassed. really want a gauge in the car as going to do sum long journeys. but dont no where to start i.e obviously fuel gauge but wot sender etc as its got baffled tank? any links would be greatly opriciated

You'll need a "dip tube" type sender and a matching gauge.

is this the dip type ? DURITE FUEL GAUGE & SENDER 12VOLT 052306 on eBay (end time 20-Jun-11 14:04:15 BST)

No! that's a float sender. Follow the link supplied by Guinness.

can i not use that durite system at all then in my kit or has it 100% gotta be a dip type?

It depends on if the baffles in the tank will interfere with the float and the float arm or not.

just had a look at my tank. is it possible to buy a float type sender/gauge as people are advertising some that are adjustable float arm???

sorry about all the questions but this is all new to me
