Omega box to Saab engine - how to!
I've spent ages dredging up old posts while trying to sort out our clutch problems when mating an Omega box to a Saab turbi engine, so for the
benefit of anyone else in the future looking for this info, see my build blog for the parts you need!!
Hopefully it will be of some help to someone.
Edit: link fixed :-)

Ashg :
due to my being a Saab 'fooler with' since 84, I'm wondering why you didn't use the DI cassette?
Did you retain Trionic?
Given the work depicted in your log files there must have been genuine reason.
Just curious as to what it was... thanks.

i went 23.5 as i thought the end of guide was a little bit close to the clutch plate. seems to work very nicely.
as for not using the trionic well the motor come out of the breakers so no di or ecu or apc. ms3 made sense as i visit atlanta now and then as my
company has an office out there. it just so happens that the diyautotune unit is 15mins down the road from my office and it would be rude not to stop
in and see matt and the guys.

thanks for that.
Presumably you are aware of ECUproject.com. and the DIY Trionic reprogramning T5suite. Proven excellent. it's All free too :-).
Trionic system, while initially a bit intimidating 'first time', is truly a genius bit of design work. No air mass meter contraption
alone is worth the price of admission :-)
Used T5.5 ecu's are approx $75 at breakers.

in the us they are $75 but they are more like £150 in the uk plus all the other bits i would need like di, apc, saab loom, then the mods to the ecu.
i went for the ms as it was easy and i could do exactly what i waned. as for difficulty of the t5suite its a piece of wee compared to building a
ms3.
im really happy with the way the car runs on the ms3 tbh. can never understand why people struggle with it as its been a really nice adventure into
efi for me.

Another thing to add on the gearbox fitment - our Saab engine and box would not allow the clutch release, turns out the input shaft to the box was
binding in the crankshaft, fixed in a slightly bodge way with washers between the bellhousing and engine, about a 2mm gap.
