pronunciation of a name?

I thought id better check this with the masses before I made a tit of myself.

how do you pronounce the following irish females name?

Grainne

I've messed this up before so I wanted to check

Its got both pronunciations of name.

The danish and english.

So many people still get wrong though ha

and....the site is American .......

I just looked up my 'middle' name .... which is French .... and it is not right .... infact there was a comment from an American with the same name, saying that she hates it when peeps get the name wrong, then went on to spell what she said was the 'wrong' pronounciation in phonetics ..... and it is actually right........

ah well .....

I get used to people getting my name wrong... if the chances are i wont see them very much i just let it go.
But it does get annoying, however i never expect them to get the danish pronounciation!

No idea what teh website are saying Liam, but a friend of theh family with that actual name, pronouces it

"Gree-on-ya"

Took me ages to get my head around it.

Knowing the Irish it's probably pronounced "Lisa"

As a child I wondered why I never knew of ANYONE in my town that was called "Show-ban" until someone told me that Sioban is "Sher-Vorn"

Seriously I'll have a go at "Gren" like Gwen
