M16 BRAKE CALIPERS

Has anyone had any dealings with www.fordcarparts.co.uk website?

I've seen some calipers on sale which i'm pretty sure are M16 type:

http://www.fordcarparts.co.uk/p1705349/FORD-ESCORT-Mk-II-1.3-Petrol-1979-1980-Brake-Caliper/product_info.html

Seems to cross reference ok from all the OE numbers.

Price seems too good which usually means bad news with me!

Oh and if it is a good deal then let me buy mine before grabbing all the stock please!

Cheers

They do look too good to be true................

But then , they are 1.3 callipers - does any one know if there is any difference between them , and 1.6 ones ?

If they are OK I'm gonna buy a pair

I've had a good look at the site now - and I'm not sure of something......they give two `model numbers' for the calipers , regardless of engine size - CA138 and CA138R
No confirmation in the description of left or right - does anyone agree that those twp may be the numbers for left and right ?

I checked the OE numbers on the cross reference and the numbers you quoted are for left and right.

I have ordered a pair and a set of Ferodo FDB167 pads.

The whole lot with delivery and VAT came to £80. Im expecting an email to say they also need a surcharge at some point as the sister website (www.wanapart.co.uk) mentions the surcharge. Still a good price and i have calipers to return so am happy which ever way.

The next best price i have found so far was Andrew Page factors at £44 each plus surcharge.

I will report back when (if) they arrive.

I had an email yesterday to say that the webpage should have put the surcharge on but didin't - would i be kind enough to post my calipers back anyway.

I'm still happy at £30 each inc VAT, all my local factors wanted £44 and the chepest on the bay was about £40 but only for left side!
