Type 9 Weight
Just sold my gearbox, but before I delivered it I put it on the bathroom scales.
48kgs inc the bell housing and some oil!!
Glad I didn't post it!!!

Crikes thats only a few kilos off the weight of a bike engine not to forget the pinto at 110 +-.

Yep not light...
Steel BH makes up a lot of that... So the alloy ones are worth it if ya can find em.
You can also buy Alloy cases but for MUCHO £££
MT75 is a fair bit lighter, but no use on a pinto

Cheapest alooy bellhousing i have found so far is £150 plus vat from Tiger

Compares to 29kg for a Toyota T50 and 35kg + bellhousing for a Ford/Tremec T5
