Last Blast!

Bloomin heck it were cold today!
I must be getting old.

So this is the first time in 5 years I 'm going to take the MK off the road for some winter mods.

New 3.38 diff for a bit more top end and an MNR reverse box for a bit more backwards!

Then look at a turbo to overcome the extra weight and gearing.

None of these are nice in the open air though so I'll do what I can before spring, I'd love a nice heated garage that I could get the car in as well

Box and a selection of propshafts, just got to work ot how to mount it to the chassis and which props fit
Will ask questions separately!

I run out of rev's with a 3.14 diff in my turbo blade on 13" wheels, if possible go lower.

Turbo is well worth the effort

It will hit the rev limit going by brands pit lane so getting around 130mph on slightly smaller slicks, at Donnington on the flat straight going towards the chicane with 185/60/13 yoko's then around 135mph.

I back off on the straights as I have a 'mechanical sympathy' noodle in my head at 10,500 rpm so only creep up there a couple of times.

On these occasions these have been dry cold overcast days, I would rather reduce the overall ratio and use the gears more, once out its 3rd to 5th only.

Regards Mark

I'm all sypathied out at 100mph (10k revs)
And I can hit that on any track (or in theory dual carriagway)
Which is why I'm sure it would pull higehr diff even as it is

It seems that all the turbo BEC guys are running out of gears, I top out at similar speeds to you lot (around 135mph) which is not going to be much good on track in lots of places as it doesn't take very long to get there! I like the gear ratio's I currently have but would like to change 5th and 6th for taller ones rather than change the diff and mess up all the ratios together, anyone know of a UK company that does different gears for ZX10R?
