Arnova Tablet Video help

Daughter has one of these for xmas
http://arnovatech.com/products/g2/arn_7c/index.html?country=gb&lang=en&p=4

She wants to watch films from her DVD collection on it on the train

What do I need to do to get a (bought) DVD to a format that this will recognise?

you will need to convert the dvd to avi to reduce the file size, I use Nero to do this there are plenty of other converters around

Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

ha haaaa AVI Files is what she mentioned.
I have Nero, but its a bit old and from what I can see it wont do a conversion from DVD to Avi

So ist there a (free?) programm that will do this?

Is this any good (really free)?
