mountain biking bullet cam

Morning all

Time again to pick the brains of the LCB collective. I'm after buying a bullet camera set up as a present for a good mate who is into his mountain biking. Budget isn't massive £25 max but wondered if anyone knoew of a reasonably priced camera that came with mounts etc which produces a reasonable enough picture for that sort of price?

I know it's not going to be top end quality picture but if anyone knows of a product suitable for biking and could posts links I'd be very grateful. Really after a kit in a box start up sort of affair so he doesn't need to add anything.

Thanks all any help appreciated.
Nigel

Cheers for that, that is indeed the sort of thing. It's a present for his birthday just to see if he gets the use out of it etc therefore don't want to spends loads of money for it to sit in a cupboard. At the same time if he does use it it would be good if the image quality was reasonable enough that you wouldn't mind watching it on a laptop for example.

If there are any other types in this price range avaialable please post and let me know.

Thanks again

We have used the little MUVI Veho cams for various things - Velcro to a helmet etc.

The cheap Chinese versions are about £15 each

I have brought and used one called mini DV30 or something. Do a search on here for other posts discussion this type of camera. For quality check look on youtube for Mini DV30, I am sure it was called that.

takes sound, reasonable video and is tiny. I used mine at the ring and velcroed it inside my crash helmet looking out of the visor!

Cost about your budget and takes micro SD so not fixed onboard memory.

My only downer with it is that it produces huge un compressed videos so it eats memory and takes ages to transfer or process. Once the video is compressed its all good.

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

The one Ive used has a 2gb card in it, and records about 2hrs continous...

Buy 2 - stick them facing different ways on the car, thats my plan.

The "fake" veho's are quite sensitive to quality of memory card.

One I use is a Veho - but it doesnt play with a 8gb card, only the 2gb one.

Is the vid quality ok with yours ?

Yeah, I had 2 different cards (I think) a class 2 and a class 6, the 6 was clear and kept up nicely whereas the 2 was a bit blurrier(!?!) but useable.

If you are unaware of the classes, have a look at the card, you'll have the memory size and a number inside a letter C denoting the class. Higher the number the better.

Unfortunately I can't find the camera so can't confirm the number in the circles but sure it was 2 & 6.

fwiw I paid £2.89 for the camera (and £25 postage (for 2)) from the far east.
