If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If the business was that profitable, the ebay seller would be doing it himself rather than selling on ebay.

Indeed.

This idea has popped up a few times over the years and is of course total bull.

It is feasable to split water into its component gasses but obviously you have to put in more energy
than you get back.

If it was a practical idea Shell/BP etc would have patented it by now.

Hey, i had them fit one to my SAAB 2.3 petrol & it went from 26mpg to this:

99.9mpg
99.9mpg

Not really, only joking, I managed to fill up at a petrol station at the top of a hill & coast for half a mile

It makes you wonder though, I would love to sit in on one of their training courses

By the way, did i mention my kit car is going to be running on fluff from our hoover - must not forget to fit a flux capacitor too !

Oh yeah, you can call me Marty McFly too...

Mythbusters did a program on it, and busted the myth.
You could run a car on hydrogen liberated from water electrolysis, but it would be on a scale top big to fit in a car. The gas would have to be compressed into bottles to be carried in car.

Extract from Wkipedia

Oxyhydrogen is also often mentioned in conjunction with devices that claim to operate a vehicle using water as a fuel. The most common and decisive counter-argument against producing this gas on-board to use as a fuel or fuel additive is that the energy required to split water molecules exceeds the energy recouped by burning it.[15] Additionally, the number of liters per minute of gas that can be produced for on-demand consumption through electrolysis is very small in comparison to the liters per minute consumed by an internal combustion engine.[16]
