Iv just gone and had a look and tried the k4 sprocket cover and the rod is also to short for that what could this mean wrong rod? I have tried to push the rod in to move the clutch and there is no movement(not sure how much pressure is needed) is there something wrong with the clutch itself? any ideas would be apprieciated.

It takes a lot of pressure to push that rod in you cant do it by hand if there is resistance prob all ok and rod is just the wrong one ill measure you up a selection of K series rods if you want on sat

id be checking the engine number as well K4 start with T711-??????
the numbers are on rear of gearbox casing and if you run your finger along the number it should scratch the skin as you do if it is smooth beware of a number change/restamping

cheers

If these are similar to the earlier gsxr engines (gsxr1100) then its just a 6mm steel rod.
I made one up from a long stainless bolt which seems to work.
