Costs to get my 750MC racecar on the road

Can anybody advise please?

My racecar has been sat gathering dust for 4 years now, and still not done owt with it. Don't have time to sort SVA as I have kids every weekend now. Anyhow, does anybody have any idea how much somebody would charge if I delivered my race car on a trailer and then after leaving them with it for a few weeks picked it up sva'd and on the road??

I'd guess about £1000 but not really got much clue lol.

Thanks

p.s. hi all, if there's still anybody on here that I know :-)

Apart from the cost of the test that Rob mentioned that has already taken half of your budget, I would expect you could be in for a hefty bill. As well as the obvious things like a full set of lights, legal tyres, etc, there may be things that are designed into the chassis that work for a track car but aren't necessarily IVA compliant. For example, it seems like the most petty things get flagged as a fail due to the radius tests. And I'm guessing your engine will be set up for performance rather than emissions or noise restrictions?

And then if you're getting someone else to do the work, that's at least the same again in labour. I'd be looking at more like two or three thousand.

As above, it really depends on what needs doing. To get an accurate price, you would need to either get someone to price it up, or familiarise yourself with the IVA manual and walk around the car checking whats wrong.

The problem youll have is where seat belt anchors have been welded to MSA, but not suitable for IVA.

Kindest Regards,

You would be better off selling as is, letting someone update it to current race spec and then putting the money towards a 2nd hand road ready car.

I reckon you could comfortably do it for £1000 + the test fee if you were doing it yourself, paying someone else to will cost too much for it to be worthwhile.

I believe 750MC Locosts are quite in demand at the moment - have you tried calling/emailing Matt (Procomp)? I know he was looking for cars for sale just recently
