temp.gauge

the water temp gauge on my Xflow Westfield has stopped working.the fan still cuts in.
I have checked the connections on the back of the dial and at the temps sensor all connected.
Any advice please

1: temp sender U/S
2: voltage regulator U/S
3: broken wire (rare) crappy connector (not so rare)

Shorting temp sender wire on the block and temp gauge needle should rise, if not its sender U/s
