Securing brake pipe

I have recently bought some P-clips to secure my brake pipe and battery leads. I oredered it from Vehicle Wiring Products. They seemed quite good and delivered the next day but both boxes of plastic clips were too big, the brake pipe just slips through them.

Anyone know if this is a problem with plastic clips or do I need smaller ones or metal ones with a rubber insert or what?

They were only a couple of quid for a 100 from Vehicle wiring products. I have tried a coupld of places locally who do the metal with a rubber insert ones and they are at best 40p each, I reckon I'll need about 50 at least and I resent spending £20 on P-clips.

Anyone know where I can get something suitable?

MAPLIN electronics sell natural nylon clips if you don't mind about the finish.

I had the same trouble with mine, so I wrapped the pipe in insulating tape where it came in contact with the p-clips. You can then clamp them down and get a nice tight fit.

Slip a bit of plastic tube over the brake pipe, or on my Landrover, I cut up an old bicycle innner tube, and used bits of that.
