too many hobbies eh...

I've got about 9 bikes in my garage at the moment - and was seriously tempted by the supermono for sale on here. No idea where it would go, or where I'd get the cash. Bikes a disease which is fun too - like maybe clamidiya.

I used to have one of those Suzuki T500 bikes... bloody awful!

At the time I was doing about 400 miles a week, commuting into London. I was lucky if a chain lasted 2 months, even if I kept them well lubricated (I used that hot chain lube every 2 weeks). I used good-quality chain too - Reynolds, I think.

The biggest problem was that the rear swinging arm pivot was too far away from the rear sprocket - every time you hit a bump part of the chain would get stretched.

Oh yes - parts of the alternator used to burn out periodically, too.

Funny isn't it? I have only good memories of mine, had the first one 2 years, raced every weekend in the season and it was my only means of transport, 4 trips to the IOM and no problems at all.
Second one I had 18 months, that was a tuned race bike, but I went to the IOM twice on it. No problems with that one either.

It's ok, the moment has past, everything is under control. However, is there a market for stroppy 17 year old sons?
