I've been 'bikeless' for many years now but back in the day (!)

Honda
CB125J
CB250 Dream
CB550F
CBX550F2
CBX750
CB1100RC
VF1000R
VFR750F (x2)

and finally...purchased new in 1988 for £9200 was a RC30 (this isn't mine but you get the idea)

I also had a number of offroaders (XR350 and so on) and a unreliable Ducati MHR.

I thought Ducatti and unreliable were two words that went hand in hand.

Couple of friends had them, one had a very expensive thing that wouldn't start if it was cloudy so had a ZXR750RR as a spare, and another friend bought a brand new Ducatti that needed an engine rebuild after 3000 miles (approx 6 months old).

Only useful for hanging on the wall cos I do like to look at them

When it ran it was a thing of wonder....just didn't happen very often. It was a Mike Hailwood Replica though

Basically a 900SS with a body kit. Sounded wonderful. Sold it on as I was really a Honda person and was used to reliable bikes (!).

When i was a bike mechanic i got to ride most of what Yamaha ,Suzuki ,Triumph,Honda and Kawasaki had to offer but i think i've had more fun on the bike i own now than anything else ,especially around the twisties . It's no good on the open road though with only 105 mph top end but it wheelies for ever :-)

I had this CBR125R for my first bike which was a superb learner bike and for the inner city but too slow for 70mph roads

Got my full licence, sold the CBR for almost what I paid for it new and bought this Virago xv535 which is such a nice bike to ride, now very loud with a stainless exhaust, perfect amount of power for me and tonnes of torque so once going rarely need to change gear at all even overtaking up hills I'd give it 10/10

have to say though flak monkey's chopper is my dream kind off bike and looks just fantastic

Great to see another trials rider on here, they do indeed rule!

Skov, I was fairly good at one time but age (and weight) has caught up to me. 62 year old bodies don't move so well. I think there are several trials riders on this forum, they just haven't seen this thread yet. Russ

The list of bikes I have previously owned is very long, the one I have hung on to is a 1979 Benelli 500 4 LS, I can't see me riding it again. I hope the grandkids will appreciate it.
