Meeting people
Any ideas? I'm not a "go to the pub" person and pretty much all the human interaction I get is one here so has anyone else tried any
other methods?
I've tried dating websites they've been about as much help as locking myself in the boot of my car.

Take your car out onto the street and start cleaning it, people will talk to you and you can talk back to them.

Thai bride, seriously. 
Being a generally unsociable person (in person at least) I've always chatted to people online in some way or another, sometimes you just make
friends in unexpected places, I've never seeked out relationships online, especially not through a dating site, they just seem a bit
impersonal.
Saying that, about 2.5 years ago I got chatting to someone in a game (world of warcraft), found we shared interests, met after a while (and a little
cajoling from mutual friends) been living together for 18 months or so, got engaged.

Met my wife through the internet (faceparty) in the early days of profile sites. Met a fair few girls which was ideal in my early 20s, but wouldnt
want to do it now. off the internet ive only really found that work is good place to meet girls, but mainly because during my college days I worked at
Mothercare, which has a 15:1 ratio of women to men workers! plenty of older 'experienced' ones and a fair few younger ones from school
(which was ideal for me in my mid/late teens!)
Get a part time job somewhere with lots of women!

Although most often when I wash the car the only person who talks to me is my dad offering me to wash his car... Still I should wash it more often
than I do 
Hmm Thai bride.. I keep seeing adverts for Russian ones too, I wonder if the Thai ones give proof they're female before delivery
Part time job, I shall have to see if Mothercare are hiring!
If I met a lass on a welding course I think she'd be quite ideal

Theres one on mine, erm, nah.
Night time courses at college, languages perhaps. Chicas like spanish at the moment it seems.

Pub quiz night? A table full of birds might like the help on some questions?
During the summer, borrow a friends baby to take to the park (really!) Say you're looking after it for a friend. Or even a dog.
Do some volutary work somewhere. Somewhere the ladies will like someone caring ;-) but not old peoples home, wrong type of captive market...

Lots of friendly dog walkers out there, and you get some exercise as well.
Based on the original post I'm assuming you're after relationship, but it might be worth increasing your friendship circle first. While
I'm not recommending a major lifestyle shift, it might still be worth looking at more male friends, which will increase your social
interactions, which (hopefully) should give you more exposure to the fairer sex. A 'friend of a friend' is a pretty good way of meeting
someone special.
Of course, I'm not sure how you'd actually find male friends (dating websites seem like a big no-no!)...

Take a walk through the park and the ladies will be around you like flies around sh*t
Otherwise somewhere like the local gym or better still the Bar at the local gym

A lot of my friends have met their other halves at weddings or engagement parties.
I think clubs are a good idea. Again, you have a common interest.
Some good advice peeps, im supprise!!
Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

I met my wife through a dating agency, we'd have simply never crossed paths otherwise as our lifestyles were totally different
We were the first and only people we actually dated from the site but got on like a house on fire from day one, that was 5 years ago, now expecting
our first child in 3 months time best decision I ever made was joining that site and I totally recommend it to anyone who is serious
I often tell people how we met only to find we were not alone either, go for it
4D baby scan tomorrow wonder what it is???? is it going to be a pink or blue toylander

I would never quit a job, even though I hated it, until I got another first. This idea that the grass is greener elsewhere is not always true, and I
hate it when it is suggested that you should just "follow your dream". Yeah, well, eating is good too.
I've moved about quite a bit, and I can also attest that night classes are good for meeting people. I even take them on holidays, most recently
in France. We met 7 other people in a local language class taught by a college professor (not French, although it was taught in French)! These little
esoteric groups are always happy to have interested people, and everyone has a story to tell as to how they got there.

Community choirs are good if you like music. You don't have to be a good singer and they don't usually ask you to audition. There are
usually at least twice as many women ( of all ages ) as men and there's plenty of opportunity to socialise during the break and perhaps
afterwards in the pub. Some ladies like a lift home after practices, especially these dark nights.
One of the sopranos has me on a promise to go round to hers for tea once the spring term gets under way

When we had our first baby 4 years ago, me and sue signed up to do NCT parenting classes. The other couples we met there turned out to be some of our
best friends. I guess we got lucky but every one of them is funny and interesting, we still do regular nights out, even bloody group holidays! You can
imagine the chaos we have with 10 adults and 10 kids
Im not suggesting you need to have a kid, just that you can meet good people in the most unlikely places, and you'd never know what you were
missing if you didnt do it.
Beware! Bourettes is binfectious.

Offer to work backstage or on prop making for the local AmDram society. As above usually a big shortage of practicle (straigh!) men

most couples I know met/got together when they wern't expecting it - including me!
turned out that one of my best mates big sisters had liked me since we first met (I din't have a clue, I thought she was just a mate)
eventually she gave up and made the first move more than 10 years later!
she's moving in with me in a few months time, as soon as my house is finished
you never know who you'll hit it off with, so just relax, have fun, make some more friends - even if you don't find anyone strait away
some more friends/fun in your life is never going to hurt

I know a dog has been suggested, but you don't actually have to get one, or borrow one from a friend, you can sign up with RSPCA as a dog
walker. People are surprisingly just like dogs, once you get to know them, in a Pavlovian sort of way.
