Garage cabinets for a Locost 12-gaugegarage.com

I really need to sort out my garage and want stuff behind doors rather than on open shelves. With the garage being just under 18' x 18' the cars are close to the end wall and one day I'm going to drop something onto a bonnet.

What I'd like is something like the www.12-gaugegarage.com seup. However this being a Locost site, I was wondering if the collective have any ideas for sourcing suitable cabinets. The free standing 6' cabinets are easy to source but suitable cabinets under 18" in height to go on top are proving harder to find. So far anything I have found is too shallow to go above the floor standers.

What I'm after is pretty much what is shown in the 12-gaugegarage along the back wall and LH side wall, but without the price tag. Any bright ideas folks?

I know that's the proper approach, but with too many projects on the go I really don't want to start making the top cabinets. If I can't find anything then it'll be a summer project.

My garage isn't quite that high but I have used the old kitchen units when we refitted the kitchen, the base units and work tops make excellent benches and the wall units add useful extra storage.

Ikea do some 600x600x600 wall cupboards (they are bridging units for going over fridges etc). Put some easy clean doors on them and mount them up to the ceiling. You wouldn't lose much space, get loads of storage and you could park the front of one of the cars under them.
