volvo s60 tow bar wiring help

hi all.i bought a used towbar and electrics from ebay last week. fitted the towbar today but the wiring is just standard trailer colours with no diagarm!
the volvo has a specific plug in the rear loom for connecting towbar harness but there is no plug on my harness.
ive been reading that volvo specific harnesses are available which just plug directly in to the cars loom with no need for relays or software downloads/fault codes.
all the ones ive found on ebay have a control module and are not just plug and play. any ideas of a simple solution? cheers

I've just fitted a towbar on my S40. The Volvo harness needs software from the information I have read so you are looking at the best part of £130. In the end I bought a bypass relay which reduces the current to prevent the car thinking there was an issue with the lights and spliced into the cables .

i searched long and hard when i needed to do the same
ended up using the bi-pass relay , came with wiring diagram
and for someone who is not super confident on electrics
i managed to fit mine ok

when you start this journey
you think it will be done in " no " time but then " no " turns into a " bloody " long time
