Part built locost for sale... no longer have the time
Hi all,
I have unfortunately decided to sell my locost project. I simply do not have the time or space anymore and would be sad to see it go. I rent a
workshop for £90 per month which I can only get to on weekends due to work and they have just said that I cannot use power tools past 1pm on a
Saturday anymore due to noise complaints. And with all my other hobbies I don't have the time, it has been in the workshop untouched for the
last 6 weeks (bar one!).
It is a custom built chassis (based on MK Indy with Westfield front suspension) I bought off a chap in hertfordshire a couple of years ago, it is a
rolling chassis with fuel lines, brake lines and part of the drive train installed. Comes with the following (from what I can remember but there will
be more):
Chassis
Sierra rear diff
Shortened prop
Type 9 gear box
1.8 zetec silvertop engine in very good condition - with clutch and fly wheel fitted
MK Indy exhaust manifold
Cortina front hubs (new bearings)
Genuine Westfield front wishbones with bushes
Escort steering rack
MK indy steering shaft
Sierra steering column with key
MK indy rear hub carriers
MK indy rear wishbones
Sierra rear bearing carriers (new bearings)
Sierra drive shafts (need recon)
Sierra brake caliper brackets
Brand new alloy fuel tank
Brand new alloy swirl pot
Brand new Lucas starter motor
Rear sierra calipers (recon'd but without pad carriers)
Fuel pump and filter fitted
Pedal box fitted for cable clutch and dual master cylinder brakes
Brake mast cylinders fitted
New MK indy sized bonnet and nose cone in black
Reclaimed scuttle, rear pannel, battery tray, 2 wheel arches. One crack but very repairable to scuttle on one side.
Brand new MK indy carbon fibre effect dash board
MK indy wiring loom
Sierra engine harness and ignition loom
Brand new handbrake cable
Radiator
4 TD black alloy wheels with tyres ( 2 road worthy) missing centre caps
Engine mounts and rubbers
Front shocks (can't remember make)
Rear shocks off a VX220 bilstein, top mounts need replacing but shocks and springs are good
I have recently put in the gearbox mount for the type 9 box so know it fits in. Engine hasn't gone in yet but would simply be a case of dropping
in on the mounts (not bolted to the chassis yet).
I am open to offers but don't think i'm in a mad rush to be rid of it, i'm not, therefore not open to silly offers. I have easily
spent £3,000 on bits so grab a bargain.
