Global GT Light progress
My wife and I bought a Global GT Light about 2 years ago for Sprints and Hillclimbs.
Here it is as we bought it:
Previously we had used an Alfasud Ti and Pulsar 931 kitcar. The Global is by far the most fun and the quickest. We've enjoyed a few class wins
(inc two a Brighton Speed Trials) and a class record, but think there is a lot more to be had out of the car yet.
Currently looks like this:
I watch the work many of you guys carry out on your Locosts and other projects with great envy of your skills and ability. Over time I will be
carrying out minor development work and your comments and constructive criticism is most welcome.
Latest work is repairing the damaged splitter and fitting some tasty carbon fibre dive planes/canards to replace the ally ones I made last year. The
new ones came from forum member Carbonman (www.carboncopiesltd.co.uk) and were made to measure for the
front of the Global GT Light. The layup is perfect, and weigh in well under half the weight of the old pair. Warren has been a huge help with plenty
of advice about a future project (new lightweight floor), as well as making sure we get the best from the work he does. Notice, there are little up
flicks on the outside edge of the canards, one of his ideas.

Happy to help. Hope you see some improvement once you get them fitted Let me know how the Intake Duct goes and once Stoneleigh is out of the way we
can have a look at improving that Airbox

Cheers Warren, I'm sure they will. Been looking at the Intake Duct (I was keeping that one a secret!) and think that will work best when we get
the air box done.

On the right is former owner of the black/gold Global in the same picture, I'm on the left in the hat. My wife took the picture. Unfortunately,
she won't be competing again for a while for health reasons.

WANTED - Global GT for sale - full car or project
Hi All
Lovely looking cars....saw these cars race recently in Mondello in Ireland.......I'm looking to get one...a full car ready to go or even a
project car...work on it...chassis only.....
Dose anyone on here know of any Global GT for sale?
Please advise??

They crop up now and again on the usual sites (PH, MotorsportAds, etc) but price and quality does vary. If you want one of the Irish 600cc ones, try
ABR Sports perhaps?

The canards from Carbonman have now been fitted and I'm pleased with the results. A few minor repairs to the splitter and front panel completed.
Almost ready for next outing at Gurston Down at the end of the month.

A good time was had at Gurston Down last weekend. The Global behaved pretty well, with the new cable gear shift providing better feel for the change,
but on a couple of runs I ended up with neutral on the upshift, which I've traced to a small movement on the bracket at the engine end which has
already been removed for bracing.
The new canards from Carbon Copies Ltd helped dial out understeer, along with ARB adjustments.
Looking forward to Abingdon CARnival in under two weeks time....

Graham's machine is quite something to behold. The aero is beautiful. There was two of them in Sport Libre this time out at Gurston
The Mallock is John Forsythe's weapon, he was a good competitor to be next to in the paddock.

Johns been around for years.
I know Graham well, and have seen the car evolve. He was a little worried that the turbo motor would take some getting used to, but hes soon got to
grips, and is likely to be more powerful and reliable than his 1600 busa. In fact, i think there will be a shift towards std-ish capacity but blown or
turb'd bike engines in the near future. With decent management (Grahams runs MoTec), they can be tamed and allow differing boost and torque
curves in different gears as well as rpm limits per gear, more flexible than a peaky 1600 full race busa imho

2nd in class at Abingdon CARnival Sprint, but a country mile from the winner. I'm embarking on a series of updates including removing the
massive fuel tank, and replacing it with a 5l fuel cell where the fire extinguisher currently is.
With the fuel tank removed, I can chop the lower part of the chassis that houses it and fit a full diffuser. Rear brakes aren't subject to
heavy use, so toying with idea of removing the discs and calipers, and fitting a kart disc and caliper on the axle in a central location.
Plotting a new wing, smaller dash. There is an intake and duct which will be fitted this week channeling a nice air flow directly to thenairbox.
Lots to do, now where did I put that angle grinder?
