Very sad news. He was an incredibly talented (and prolific) writer and I have read a lot of his work.

His last novel due out soon will be a must read.. Think I'll re-read The Wasp Factory..

One of my favourite authors.
Met him once and he was very patient with me (I was young, overawed and a being a bit of a d*ck).
I don't think everything he wrote was gold but I enjoy it all.
Shame he didn't make it to see the new book come out but good to hear that he saw the finished copies.
A wee dram later and a toast to Raw Spirit.

Gutted, read pretty much everything he's ever written, his early regular novels and all his Sci-Fi were my favourites, such a great talent gone
