Possibly moving to Paignton in Devon, any advice where to live?

Hi,

We're thinking about moving to Paignton from Kent and have been there on holiday many times but would like any advice on where and where not to look at properties.

Ideally we'd like to be withing walking distance of the sea and as my wife doesn't drive somewhere there's a good bus service into the main shopping centres.

So far we've been considering White Rocks, Hookhills and Broadsands but are any of the areas closer to the town any good. Also what's Preston like as some areas seem reasonably close to the coast but also within walking distance of the town?

John.

I've worked in Paignton for the last 16 years, but I don't live there so not overly familiar with the good/bad areas but I can ask around in work tomorrow.

Preston is nice. Good beach to walk the dog in the evening. Depends how much you have to spend. My daughter lives in Roselands. This is very quiet and you get a larger house for Your buck. Foxlands is not too good.

Once the new bypass is built it will really open up this area.

BTW I live just up the hill from Cockington. My house is just on the market. I'm not suggesting it BTW.

Thanks for the advice so far.

We're looking to spend around £220 - £240K (not more unless there is the possibility of a granny annex we could potentially let out to get an income).

Galmpton out of question, still recommend Roselands.
