driving what ?

In a motorsport competition with only one eye ?

Some people can never handle the truth and always try to shoot the messenger instead of taking an honest look in the mirror (its always easier to blame another than to face reality), but secretly they wish they could grow a pair and be the messenger !!!

I'd say one eye would have been a major disadvantage. Depth perception and peripheral vision would be severely reduced.

Real shame. She'd overcome a hell of an injury.

Not sure if she'd have managed to race at a high standard again though - my understanding is that the FIA licensing regs are pretty tough on visual standards.

Tragic in the real sense of the term.

For info it is very possible to race again with just one eye. A good friend of mine lost an eye in an accident and was back racing inside a year. He went on to ride in GPs and was a very succesful rider before being killed in a freak accident at Spa.

Paul 'Lord' Drayson races at Le Mans with only one useful eye (summat like circa only 5% vision in one of them)

the good lord also has campaigned a hell of a lot to get to where he is having to fight the fia every step. depth perception is possible with one eye, you brain has to learn it which takes a little time.

I'm hoping that its a random blood clot type thing that got her. she seemed so on top of things it would be horrible to think in reality she was struggling and no one had the chance tohelp her.

They now seem to be suggesting that it was something to do with the accident last year... something physical, not psychological/suicide.
