Starter motor 1.8cvh?

I have a starter motor here that was supposedly from a 1.8cvh which I thought could be used with a blacktop zetec but mounting bolt holes are way off my bell housing.
I've tried googling the numbers but nothing coming up, in English anyway.
Does anyone know how to identify what it is for?

I've also included a picture of the bell housing as I was starting to wonder if that was wrong. you can see the 3 holes on the bell housing look evenly spaced.

The gear box bell housing is correct so I would suspect that the starter is for an automatic ? or a diesel ?

I reckon that's for a Ford Contour 2.0 Auto (USA) - like a Mundano, but not.

Hells teeth £49.99 for a used starter, pretty sure i've seen brand new ones for that price.

They don't work with an st170 exhaust manifold. The manifold touches the solenoid power terminal.

But then again you may not be using that manifold

No. Just the standard zetec.
What did you use on your st170 engine?
