Snap on tools
Morning everyone,
I'm after a socket and spanner set for my garage as my current ones have seen better days.
Ideally snap on/blue point not fussed if used. Let me know what you have!

Whilst Snap-On are very good they are very expensive.
Halfords Professional range are also very good and a fraction of the price.

I can recommend Sealey Professional range. Similar to Halfords reports , cheaper then Snap-On etc and still come with lifetime warranty.
Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity!

HOWEVER..... KEEP the RECEIPT SAFE..... or you wont have a guarantee. Its NO RECEIPT, NO LIFETIME guarantee / NO Exchange of faulty or broken
tools.
Guess how I know that 
I have had my Pro set over 10 years, only thing that went wrong was the ratchet mechanism in the handles wore out. They wouldnt replace them without
the receipt, despite them celarly marked as Halfords PRO.
With a lot of LOUD voicing on a Saturday morning the manager eventually gave me a repair kit for the ratchet, which has worked perfectly.
JUST KEEP THE RECIEPT SAFE AND SOUND
Sri... CAPS are intentional, as its important.
I use my tools almost weekly, so they are good value IMHO.

EDIT....
Unless you are a Professional mechanic, and use your tools 8 hours a day every day, then don't bother with Snap-On.
They are very very good, but are very very expensive, and definitely OTT for the Weekend Mechanics like most of us on here.
Its horses for courses etc etc... Halfords Pro are way more than adequate.

After 45 years in the motor trade I have found the comments I have just read on this subject to be spot on.
If you use your tools properly (ie dont undo tight nuts with a ratchet, crack it off with a knuckle bar first) they will serve you well
My first spanners were britool and lasted very well, wore out eventually then but so did I!

Agree Halford PRO socket sets spot on also check the internet because you can get extra discount. I had a rachet spanner break they just swoped it
over no fuss And Yes keep the receipt mine is kept in the box!

I've lost the receipt for my halfords pro set. I asked the manager the other day and he said he would accept a bank statement. I haven't
been back yet, but I can remember roughly when I bought them so I'm going trawling through my online banking!

I still prefer Snap on. Halfords work just fine but let's be fair they are not as good as snap on.

Snap Ons.. Are good .
Best part is their tools are Very thin at the working ends. Consequently access is easier.. a genuine advantage.
But their Goofy Sales channel adds So Much to the price that their sales are lowish and reducing.
Also these too can be broken. Albeit No stupid receipt requirement involved in their warrantee.

One thing to bear in mind.
Many years ago I had my garage broken into and I made my so far one and only house insurance claim. The chap
asked me what was stolen and I answered "Halfords spanners, Draper etc" and said "sadly not SnapOn"
He replied, "good, SnapOn are industrial tools and not covered under domestic insurance".
Whether that's still the case or was just that company I don't know.

It sure is the case but you would find most of the tools need to build a "locost" from scratch wouldn't be covered either.

snap on currently have an offer on a full set of 3/8 blue point socket set.. 145 piece for £120.. its in a nice box and full of hex and torx bits..
I had to have it..
