Procomp New Dampers :)

My Xmas prezzy to myself - Front & Rear custom shocks from Procomp Motorsport Birmingham

Springs : 275lb front - 150lb rear - both only taking 1 inch of adjustment compression to achieve ride height.

The new shocks are on zero click - soft setting means the front & rear actually move up and down now!
I kid you not - sit on a corner & you can easily gently push the car up and down through almost all of its travel..
I am amazed at the difference..

After reading the spec on the A021r Yokohama tyre web site it states the minimum pressure at 19psi.
I had been running the tyres at a much lower psi to soften the ride & save my spine..
I now have 21psi all round and the suspension is doing a grand job..

Took it for a spin ..
first port of call is my hairpin
The old hard dampers had lots of front end under steer
With new soft setting - big improvement seemed much more front grip even with higher psi..
Very happy..

At high speed - nice and stable - More so .. it seems to have cured my front wing oscillation
Deep manhole & potholes are a joy to drive over..
I can clearly see the front end suspension moving up & down with the contours of the road like never before..
Front has a nice bit of nose dive under fun braking which it never had before..
I would say my braking is better all round with softer shocks..
Drifting/sliding the car seems very predictable and improved..

I am really looking forward to sunny days - car feels so much better now !!

I really cant recommend highly enough the importance of the right shocks..
The old shocks totally spoilt the car...
I'm so glad to have spent the cash on the right part of the car
Big thank you to Procomp for their custom shocks & advice!
Yeah .... happy bunny

Another great review, what excites me the most is that I've not driven mine since having it setup by ProComp last year!

I too am on A021R tyres, and I too were running around 13psi in order for a less harsh ride, and I too got told to inflate them to 18psi.

LOL Uncanny.

A set of dampers + springs from procomp transformed my car as well, I haven't had the full setup yet either!

I'm ordering my new fronts next month. They were too hard so I'm excited to see the difference.

My rears were considered ok.

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!
