What exhaust? I know a man with a brand new blacktop in his kit with jenveys, omex ecu and a bog standard focus exhaust manifold.

The thing makes 165bhp and a nice flat torque curve. The exhaust is the limiting factor here according to the rolling road op.

Mine is on bike carbs and MJ and goes very well. I previously had a 1.8 Blacktop (115) and the 2.0 has a bit more grunt, though not a massive difference.

I think you'll notice a rasonable difference from a 105 Silvertop.

I thought you could just swap the to the 130ps cams that were fitted to some of the 1.8 silvertops ?
(like the fiesta RS1800 and some XR3i's)

or failing that a pair of aftermarket cams would do the same job...

Fit a pair of 2.0 cams in it
Theyre similar but not quite the same as the RS1800 but will def give you a noticeable power hike
Ive got a RS on bike carbs/webcon ign and wunuff 4-1 and its very lively

it will most likely be the webber alpha ecu if it hasnt been setup and is running their out of the box zetec map. the tuning software is not available so for many of their ecu's so it can only be mapped by a webber agent.

changed a mates car over to Jenvey throttle bodies and an omex 600 ecu due to the closed nature of the Webber system (and no local Webber agents with the kit that didnt want to rip him off) and got a significant boost in performance.

Apparently a standard Silvertop on twin webbers using webber alpha gives someone up to 190bhp according to here:

^^ if you read that carefully he's saying they got 190hp but it wasn't really drivable - so it was dropped to 175hp to make it usable

but that's more to do with the carb's and cams than anything else (the above link doesn't claim to be a silvertop or be using stock cams ) any ignition system would be able to do that as long as it was tuned to suit - megajolt, nodiz, omex, emerald could all do this just as well as the webber alpha

the problem with webber alpha is you can't tune it yourself and there are a limited number of webber agents who can tune it for you (never mind the cost of getting them to tune it)

From mapping HUNDREDS off Zetecs here some REAL specs...

2.0 Blacktop on Jemvies and management = 170bhp
Same on carbs around 160-165 - use a CV type carb for best all round performance (and a NODIZ of course!) like bike carbs - webers suck IMO

Add kent focus3 cams to get you up 190-195

Headwork will take you to 215

Raise the comp and decent head work and you can get 250...

1.8 Silvertop will make 155bhp on Jenvies and Management - ciurca 150 without

OE inlet on a 2.0 BT will make 140-145bhp on management

Hope that helps

Or add a supercharger and make 400BHP.

190 on just throttle bodies is way over the odds

Yup - a 2.0 on just Tbs will make 170 every time

Cams will get you to 190+
