Wanted Pinto 2.0 or 2.1 with electronic ignition

Hi bit of a long shot and please be gentle if I exhibit any newbie madness lol , but I am looking at upgrading my 1.6 pinto to either a 2.0 or 2.1 not in any mad rush so if anyone has a good engine / setup that is getting changed over winter I could be interested.

I know zetec is possible the chosen way but really don't want to be sinking £2k into the car at this time.

My 1600 is not that bad but at 70bhp I just need a little more fizz

I'm guessing that a good 2.0 stage 1/2 heads and possibly electronic ignition is a good power and reliable way to go for my use which is mainly weekend trips to Europe and the odd track day.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Most cost effective upgrade for you is a 2.0 Pinto with injection head and an FR32 cam
This with decent carbs and Megajolt will give above 130bhp
There is a choice of cams but don't go wild
A Pinto 2.1 will cost you as it requires a 205 block, a big rebore and new pistons etc
