No they are not fragile ?

they where built with the capability to handle upto 750 horses and backed of to 375 std

poor shell lrp fuel caused a problem on the nikosil bores but bmw had the same issues

and they had a nylon camchain tensioner from neew but this was addressed a long time ago

so anyone who knows them no

thats why the landrover boys race them cos they are fragile not

They are good for 200,000 before pulling apart, it was the early ones that were were as problem with coated linings.

Never seen a manual box on one, thevgearbox may have come out of an Aston Martin as jaguar never offered a manual version and the Aston is a reworked n/a lump, it is however a very wide engine.
