Finally, new project/minimal bodywork question

Following on from my previous thread, i have now bought a 1990 Daihatsu Sportrak, last used on the road in 2008 and been used on a farm up until last week. Unfortunately i don't have any pictures yet as iv been too busy stripping it out and cleaning parts im not using to sell.

I also have a rough idea for laying out the cage but i am undecided whether to attempt to make it myself or pay someone to make it for me. Does anyone know roughly how much it would cost for a full cage to be made?

Im also wondering if there are any rule to the amount of body panels required. I know the wheels have to be covered and obviously any moving parts on the engine that could injure pedestrians.

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

For an idea of a custom made cage Malcom Whitbread has always been happy to make something to people's requirements.
