HI All.

Im at the stage that i need to tart the plumbing on my 2006 5VY R1 engine.

Does anyone have any idea hw to plumb the colling system in as im at a cmplete and utter loss.

Please help me ASAP! Im in Chorley, Lancs if anyones local and fancies a brew/beer too.

Bottom hose (below exhaust manifold on right) to Radiator bottom hose.
Thermostat to rad top,
Oil cooler outlet T'd into top (stat-rad) hose. Bottom hose will work also
Small pipe from near drive flange direct to wax stat on throttle bodies (other side of wax stat to small outlet on pipe from head to stat)
Bleed pipe from stat top and bleed from rad, T'd together and then to top expansion bottle.
Bottom of expansion bottle T'd into bottom hose.

I used VW globe type bottle and Polo rad.

Hi
This is ours , not 100% sure if its the same a yours
We cut off and blanked the small bleed tube on the top
of the polo rad (large self taper & araldite)
worked fine on road & track.

That's pretty close to mine (before I put oil cooler on) except... I have the "small pipe from pump" connected to the wax-stat on the throttle assembly (for cold start) and the air bleed pipe from the Polo rad' (that reneton has blocked) goes to the T between 'stat and tank.

renetom, Is your cold start wax-stat not in use? I guess you didn't use the rad bleed as there's less room in your nose than under my bonnet.

Renetoms is a carbed R1, so no cold start wax stat

As above, its best to retain the radiator bleed if you can,as you can get a rad with just two outlets air locked.

This is how I plumbed my 4xv but there may be some changes to the later r1 configuration.
