Help needed 1.4 fiesta Zetec fast idle fault

Hi guys
My boys fiesta has developed a fault, it revs at 3000 rpm from start up and will not drop.
It started all of a sudden you start it up and it revs at 3000rpm, checked all connections i can see and get too but nothing helps. any idears please.
I read that if you disconnect the battery it will reset the computor values so trying that at the mo.
thanks in advance,

Its a 1.4 Zetec 54 plate. No fault codes and drives fine otherwise.

Off the cuffl... Check the breather hose from the PCV valve to the inlet. They're known the split and suck air. Not easy to see down under the inlet manifold.

Could be the idle air control valve is stuck open?
There are a lot of vacuum hoses on the inlet manifold; try pulling each one off and seeing if the revs rise.

To rev, the car needs air.....check for cracks around manifold, throttle closed, throttle cable, etc, etc.
