'fly by wire' accelerator pedal

My parents have what we believe to be a ’98 or ’99 Ford Transit ‘Duetto’ camper van (It’s actually registered 2000 but apparently the conversion company buys them in before they’re registered). The ‘fly by wire’ accelerator pedal has failed and according to my parents is impossible to get hold of… anywhere! I didn’t believe them so have just spent an hour trawling Google images, Ebay etc and it would appear they’re absolutely right, rendering their beloved camper useless. Does anyone here have any ideas as to where I might be able to find an obscure replacement pedal or anyone who might be able to repair/replace the pot on theirs (or even modify a more readily available unit to work on their van). The part number on the pedal is 97VB 9B743 BC.

Here are a couple of photos, sorry about the quality, I had no idea they were so ban until I saw them on a proper screen

Probably no good, but Quickco (Manchester) supply dealers all over the north of the country (I don't know who does where you are) - you could give them a call on (0161) 865-0011. Failing that, a couple of Ukranian and Russian sites pop up and then google translate is your friend.

Looks like I have been beaten to it but it is a ford transit item, specifically I believe the 2.5 variant.

You have of course tried the obvious? FORD?

It would be very unusual for it to be no longer available, more likely superseded with and improved part.
