car having Pre IVA checks

Took my Panther to local garage at the weekend to set up steering alignment, headlamps, handbrake, suspension and brakes.

Guy had a really good look over the car, basically did an MOT and picked up play in the steering joint- the triangular uj a rally design one which apparently are poor and need replacing quite often!

If you take it off and have a good look at it you will see that the slot has not been cut all the way through, with a grinder and a 1mm cutting disc I sorted mine out. It's really hard to see but I'm sure that will be the issue.

Looking good. Always handy to have another set of eyes go over your work.

Bear in mind a lot of stuff thats on the IVA isn't likely to get spotted by an MOT tester; Edge radiuses, light positions, etc... ie, from the picture on the ramp it appears (might just be the angle of the photo) your seat belt slope up from the top mounts to the seat holes; That makes the seat "structural" and coud fail and youmight need to space them up. The IVA brake test is also different to MOT so although a good check, won't always proove sufficient.
