Chain drive box

Hoping someone can help. Got a chain drive on my autograss special. Last week chain broke. Noticed rear bearing was cracked so replaced bearing and chain. When back together notice a clunking noise every so often. Taken it to bits again thinking cv joint. Wasn't that cos the chain won't turn at all when all fixings are tight if I loosen them right off except chasing fixings and front nut the chain turns fine. Any advice would be really appreciated as I'm at a dead end. Thanks

Might be worth talking to this lot http://berrisford.co.uk/ have been told they are very helpful and build custom boxes for grassers.
