Biketronix Gear Indicator

Hi my car has a biketronix gear indicator however it doesnt seem to read anything apart from 5 which there appears to be a delay in.

Has anyone else got one installed and had similar issues?

Download the manual (Google) and reset it. You may have to do the set up a few times.
"Programming the DGI is fairly simple. We advice to clear the DGI prior to use, by shortening the yellow teach wire to ground, and afterwards turn on the switch (“ON”). A “C” (=clear) will appear on the display.
Once this appears, you can let go of the wire. An “n” (=neutral) should appear now .
Start the engine and switch to first gear. Right after the engine has been started the dot in the upper left corner of the display will blink, indicating the detected RPM pulses of the engine. With this one can check whether the DGI is mounted correctly. If it’s not blanking, please check your wiring coming from the RPM gauge.
Once the wheels are turning the DGI automatically switches from RPM detection to “wheel revolution” detection. Now the dot has to blink every wheel revolution. If not, check whether the sensor sees the magnet. This blinking automatically stops after about 100 revolutions of the wheel.
Now, in first gear shortly make a short circuit to ground using the yellow wire. A “1” should appear
The RPM of the engine is of no importance while programming the DGI.
Switch to second gear until a “n” appears. Wait for 15 seconds and short circuit once again so a “2” will appear on the display.
Repeat this procedure until all gears have passed."

It goes without saying that you should be very careful, when running the car in gear on axle stands.

It makes sense to connect the yellow wire to earth, via small momentary push button switch, this would make the set up a lot simpler
I have the manual as a Word document, if you need it.

If you don't have any joy getting it working, you should consider buying a GI Pro gear indicator for the ZX12R. In the past, we had nothing but trouble getting gear indicators to work on a BEC. (Those which compare revs with road speed to work out the gear you're in such as Acumen DG8 and Datatool Digi)

The ZX12R has a gear position sensor and the GI Pro gear indicator simply plugs in and works precisely without fault. Ours has been fitted for over 8 years now and has never missed a beat.

I have one of these in need of setup, but the biketronix website doesn't seem to exist any longer. Would be grateful to get a copy of the full instructions if possible!
