Ford G4X2A A127-70 - queries

Ford G4X2A A127-70 Alternator on a 2.0 ltr Zetec engined Striker.

Couple of questions.

1) Found today Charging voltage @ 14.4v (High or OK ??)

2) Also the Warning light glows very dim above tickover and gets brighter as revs increase. (All wiring and fan belt sound and tight.)

Is the Regulator or Diodes duff.

Or something else to check.

Thanks

Ok Thanks

From what I've read about this problem of the warning lamp being dim and brighter with revs, is that there's a bad connection somewhere. ??

thanks

Had a similar problem myself, sometimes the light would go off over 2000rpm, sometimes it would come on, bright sometimes, dim others. I just stuck a new alternator in and it has been fine ever since.

I just went for a Lucas ACR. It was £50ish new.
