sylva vin-plate??

is there a chance to get an unstamped sylva vin-plate somwhere?

i mean the small alloy-late, with sylva-printing, usually riveted to the firewhall

what really?

the plate is missing...not only at my car....

instead of using a standard vin-plate from a trailer i prefer to have something more authentic.

If you have the dimensions and font you could make a blank plate onto aluminium using.dye sublimation then punch reg and numbets on to it

Try this website, they make VIN plates for other kit cars, so might do a special for your Sylva. Or you can stamp your own make and model.

Linker to site

Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

Annoying that the folks above don't appear to do a 'complete' service, i.e. stamp the plate.

I still haven't got around to getting a plate made up for the Land Rover, after a long discussion with an MoT tester who felt that a 1967 vehicle had to have one, despite myself being certain it didn't. I've presented the vehicle for some 20 years elsewhere with no issues. He refused to do the test, then did, but gave me a lot of grief and then more grief.

The kit car doesn't have a plate either, that only (I believe) needs the number on the chassis somewhere.

IF you get a quality plate somewhere that you're happy with, do let me know, some are quite 'tacky'.

a piece of aluminium cutted to measure and self-punched ID isnt a problem. but thats not what i want.

i want an original plate which is printed with sylva-autokits on it.

its not for legal-reasons, its for a esthetique / authentic reasons.

the vin-plate webpage is well known. i may ask them, but i guess they will demand a minimum order quantity.

Let me know if and what the minimum quantity is, it may be something the JPSC may buy and sell as and when.
We don't do much but this is a service we could do!

thats from my other sylva which i´m restoring at the moment. (i own 2 phoenix and 1 striker )

would be also nice to have a new one for this car as the fixing hole drilling passed through the "C" of the word Chassis

joneh - if you are building a current Fury, Steve at Fury sports cars can supply
a vin plate and he will stamp it with your chassis number and also "fury Sports Cars"

See photo for the one supplied to me.

I was told mine was a very early fury, but I think it could be a sylva, as the only label I found on it indicated Sylva on the wiring. Unless there was a design change that I could identify it with?

I'd be interested in one as part of a "group buy" to replace mine which has two pop rivet holes through it (made by the previous owner I might add!)

does it need exactly the type pictured by you, or could it be also the type pictured by me, above?

To be honest I'd prefer the type I have, like you just for authenticities sake, so I don't suppose it helps much with a "group buy" scenario then. Sorry

contacted an ebay seller named vin-plate-essentials

Minimum order is 20 plates.
my selling price would be 8,-pound plus p&p.

if i organze it i need to collect advance payment:

1. strictly SEPA banc-transfer (no paypal, as paypal will charge money for each transaction)
2. as i´m living in euro-land, the costs for the transfer need to be covered by the sender of the money, shared-costs are not accepted!!
3. postage costs to UK would be 1,50€ in an envelope as letter. (not insured, non-trackable)

i prefer the design posted, but if the demand for the other design (yours) is higher, i would also take the other.

if its easier for everybody if all the organisation / payment etc is done by a UK resident, no problem. i could hand this over to somebody of you.
