University Project Help: Tyre, wheel and brake size survey.

Hi all,

As some of you know I have gone back to university as a mature student to do my automotive engineering degree. I am now in my final year and am conducting a project on Seven esc vehicle steering geometry and upright design. As such I am hoping you will be kind enough to fill in a little survey for me to aid me with my project. If you could fill in the proforma below that would be very helpful, it should only take 5 minuets. If there are any sections you do not know the answer to please leave them blank.

Very many thanks,

Tilly

Comments based on your personal experience:
Great tyres for track and even road use, can be a little pricey, decent wear for what they are. Warm up well and dont overheat too easily.
Wheels were bought as a set of track wheels, they're fairly lightweight and look decent. Old but were cheap
Brakes are ok, would like to upgrade the calipers. Pads are brilliant (though a little squeaky with light braking)

Comments based on your personal experience:
Tyres are good for fast road use, tend to overheat quickly on track so only use them on wet days instead of the R888. Cheap to buy, grippy on the road, good wear rate.
Wheels are great, pretty lightweight, cheap, look brilliant
Brakes are ok, would like to upgrade the calipers. Pads are brilliant (though a little squeaky with light braking)

Cheers guys, I really appreciate you taking the time to do this.
I could really do with about 20 people to do this. So this comment is also a bit of a bump for the thread.

To many questions makes it daunting

General
Chapmans Locost with IRS and matching front wheelbase.
918 fireblade with turbo

Vehicle Mass Exc Driver (Kg): 440kg
Vehicle Purpose ( Road / Road & Track-day / Circuit Race / Hill Climb / Sprint ): Hillclimb/Sprint

Front
Tyre Size: 185/60/13
Tyre Inflation Pressure (Cold PSI): 14
Tyre Make & Model: yoko 048
Wheel Width (Inches): 6
Wheel Mass (Kg): ?
Wheel Offset (+/- mm): et20
Wheel Make & Model: Minilite
Brake Disc Diameter & Thickness: 2.8 Capri
Brake Caliper Make & Model: willwood clone
Number of Pistons: 4
Brake Pads Make & Model: Mintex 1144

Rear
Tyre Size: 205/60/13
Tyre Inflation Pressure (Cold PSI): 14
Tyre Make & Model: yoko 048
Wheel Width (Inches): 7
Wheel Mass (Kg): ?
Wheel Offset (+/- mm): et20
Wheel Make & Model: Minilite
Brake Disc Diameter: XR4x4
Brake Caliper: Ford XR4x4
Number of Pistons if Disc Brake: 2
Brake Pads Make & Model: EBC green stuff

predicatable fast car, tyres easily shredded over 2 track days so I run the equivilent Michelin slicks, these days when sprinting.

other car I sprint is an Aston Martin DB7 i6, standard car if you want to look up the specs, this runs Michelin cup sport 2 tyres, front 36psi, rear 34psi, goes well for a soft road car, predicable near the limit, 4pot brakes front, 2 pot rear running DS11 pads on the front, standard pagid items on the rear.

The rear is underbraked !
